What's your most random piece of car-geek trivia?

Today I discovered that Ferdinand Porsche produced the first ever limited slip differential for the Auto Union racecars in 1935. So there you go, we have the nazis to thank for drifting. smile

The Model T ford is widely credited with being the first ever mass produced product, that honour actually belongs to the Colt 45

Also, the NSU Ro80 was contrary to popular belief powered not primarily by petrol, but almost entirely by rotor tip seals

Note - this may not be true

The Morris Minor was the first car in the world that the production reached 1 million cars.

The parcel shelf was an optional extra on Morris Minors. As were carpets.

The track on a lot of cars is narrower at the rear, helps the handling. The Volvo 240 and Citroen DS seem to feature this more visibly than most
