I'm looking for a cheap way of mounting a video camera in a race car (to the roll cage). Will tether with something like a cable tie or two.

Any recommendations??

Cheers

Zip ties.

There is a camera that most of the big names sell that you can easily zip tie to the roll cage. Mount it on some rubber to keeo it from slipping round.

go on chain reaction cycles (dot) com

and buy a handle bar mounted camera, cost about 50-100 quid, can be mounted to most thing cylindrical(sp) dont streak when shaking and have a memory card slot so they dont need any additional hardware, most will record about 2 hours to 1GB memory at reasonable resolution.

theres one. name Cam Hero (or something to that effect) that you can buy a mount for a roll cage. i bought one for 99quid, but i dont use it.

its yours for 50 if you interested

Hello mate - is the one you have:

??

I can't see the handle bar mounted cam on that site - any chance you could post a direct link to it as it sounds like an interesting proposition.

Cheers

thats the exact one ive got, granted its a wrist mount, but the camera in each unit is exactly the same. the wrist mount it neoprene(sp?) and so is very grappy, and it can be adjusted to fit around handle bars which are only 25.5mm in diameter so a rolecage shouldnt be an issue.
