What Tyres should i get?
Discussion
Hey guys,
Just wondering what tyres i should get on my run-a-round proton.
The current set of Chinese ditchfinders have lasted a measly 10k on the front and are now worn to the wear bars.. although the rears still look new.
All that matters is that it provides a decent level of grip thouout the year, and lasts me more than 10k
( i would like to have grip in the wet, as im out in all weathers all the time, and im also not a fan of Prielli 6k's *shudder* )
Any suggestions?
tyre size is 175/15 i think will check later.

Continental tyres are the best I have had for British weather use.
im assuming youre not talking about the ecocontact range?Whatever you do DO NOT get Vredestein Hi Tracs, I have them on my Passat and they are truly woeful, it is not so much they lack grip in the wet or dry because on that score I would say they were fairly decent, it is the fact they have sidewalls made of jelly and as such make the car feel absolutely horrible to drive and they seem to alternate between bad/really bad every 500 miles or so!

i.e Goodyear NCT5's vs Bridgeston B250 ?
Dear God no, not the NCT5. Worst tyre I've ever used, and that's including wonders like Road Champ, Event and Wanli.B250 is fine. Pirelli P3000 I found to be fine on a Fiesta.
Best tyre I've had around that size was the Uniroyal rallye680. Excellent tyre in the wet, and last reasonably well.
I've a set of Falken SN828 on a Ford KA and they've exceeded my expectations by a wide margin!!
