Compliments, How Do You Handle?

I say thanks and, if appropriate, ask them if they want a better look around. I met a bloke in a filling station with a brand new DB9 and commented on how beautiful it was - he just blanked me, what's the point in that?
Some people just don't want to be bothered by others. It's just how it is. He proabably did a risk assessment in his head, if he said thanks, what were the chances you were going to say something else or try to spark up more of a convo....
I left the Cerb at the back of a supermarket car park, when I returned there were a couple of young lads peering in. When they realised I was approaching they moved away and said "we've just been putting some scratches on it for you"
I laughed and told them, it's open if you want to get in (then watched them look for the handles
)
They had a good nose round, and said it's lovely, I just said thanks. They were pleased to have a nose around, and I think it's good to keep these lads happy.

when people pay compliments to your car how do you handle them?
Blush, as they are obviously not interested in my clio.god that was poor.

Had a guy come upto me in a Tesco carpark this morning who just wanted to admire my car. Firstly didn't realise he was talking to me, when I realised he was, I thanked him for his comments. He then said that it was his dream car, god it's only a "P" reg Cerb!!!

I usually just smile and say thanks.
Recently I have been using a rather nice XR2 as my daily drive and almost every day someone asks me if I want to sell it.
If I'm out in one of the Cosworths the attention is (sometimes) almost unbearable.
"Not seen one of them for ages"
"Is it a real 'un?"
"Is it chipped?"
"Can I sit in it?"
"Wanna sell it?"
But it's all worth it.
