my new wireless door bell opens my z4///m?? wtf

no joke ive just picked up a new wireless doorbell and it opens my z4m?? has anyone got any experience with this??

it doesnt open it every single time but it defo opens it? is my car or door bell at fault?

this is stupid to be honest, why do they set these things so they can easily be tampered with, so technically someone can go buy this bell when my cars at a show or sumet and open the car??

After a lot of research I can buy a replacement alarm unit for my car (VX220).

Hopefully BMW are more understanding than VX and may do a recall or warrenty job on it if theres a replacement available.

Can you set the doorbell to a different frequency? My wireless doorbell has a choice of frequencies.

If not, speak to your car dealer to see if it's a known problem with an easy fix.

Because it means that your car gets stolen and with the insurance money, you go and buy ANOTHER car.....

It's not in the car manufacturers interest to make cars secure or theft proof.

Have you still got the instructions for the doorbell? (Yes yes, I await the "just push the button" replies) Sometimes, if you remove the case of the bell unit, there's a way to change the frequencies. Normally useful if a few neighbours have similar wireless systems, but it might work here as well.

Seriously, this shouldn't happen on a new car should it? I would get onto BMW to sort out your car and pay you lots of money to keep your mouth shut.
