Hi everyone

Friend of mine was in an underground in London this week and saw this car. Apologies for the exceptionally rubbish picture.

He said there was no badge on it at all giving away the marque, let alone model. You can see how small it is compared to my friend's Focus next to it, and you can also see distinctive covering of the front wheels (if you see what I mean).

There's also a Classic LeMans 2006 sticker on the back smile

So, with such limited info as that, do PHers have an idea what it might be?!

Thanks smile

Can't quite make out the registration plate, but couldn't you look that up?

I saw the same car in the same spot the other week and posted the same question, albeit with a slightly better picture. wink
My guess was some sort of Lotus special.

Edited to add I blurred out the number plate and have now deleted the original file. D'oh.

Yeah that looks pretty similar at the frontend.
Looks like a Lotus 11 with a roof... (which AFAIR didn't exist... scratchchin)

And a bit like a TVR Tuscan at the front of the doors.

You could leave a note on the windscreen with your mobile number asking the owner/driver?

For a bloke though - is that a bit like asking directions?

Ah what a coincidence - someone with a better picture. Good work!!

Lotus is likely, but it just seems very strange that there'd be zero badges.

I've found the number plate. What's the site that lets you find out details from that?
(And no - not google.)

Checking on that it comes up as a Wbspecial (Estate). (?)
DVLA have it as a 1200cc, first registered in 1963.

Well I'm none the wiser.

I think that belongs to the brother of a friend of mine. There was a little piece about it in Classic and Sports Car a couple of years ago. It's a one-off special by some 1960's aerodynamicist I think.

When I first saw the plate I though it was 300 UNX, which it appears that it is.

Doesn't seem much point in concealing this fact, seeing as there's only one car like this.

I flipping LOVE the knowledge of PistonHeads!

Even more so that somebody may know who owns it?!

So, what can I say it is?! It is a.....

"one off special built in the 60s by a guy who knew his Lotuses" ?! Perhaps?!
