how do you dip the clutch

erm, push it with your left foot?
Do you have a very narrow power band / too much turbo lag?
These are the normal reasons for dipping the clutch, but its bad for the clutch though as you can easily burn out a standard road clutch doing this (especially if you are running a 4 wheel drive system).
I'd suggest that if you just passed your test then you concentrate on getting your distance/speed judgements right before you start dipping clutches or you'll end up pranging in to something through lack of experience or knackering your clutch by dipping it.
Try doing some additional driving tuition if you want to know how to get the most out of your car, dipping your clutch isnt necessary when you have enough welly

..what's a clutch??
I downshift quickly by throwing it into N from OD, then revving up, then straight back past OD into D. This gives me a much faster downshift than just letting the auto do it..
My old Dad taught me the noble art of double declutching back into the '60's, and I been doing it on everything I drive ever since. The one good thing about an auto, is that it trains your left foot for braking as sensitively as the right.

well im driving a vw golf gti 20l 8v have been driving for about 3 years but not leagle now i am all leagle just wanted to find out a few things. my cluthch is on its way out do you recomend a fast road clutch would be better?
