Hi PHers last nite i went out with the girlfriend for a drive. It got to about 12pm when we decided to pull into the Mcdonalds for a drink. As we were parked up i noticed a car full a lads who all seem to be looking at me/car. So there i was drinking my coke when i noticed this lad walking 2wards my car so i put my window down to ask what he wanted. Then he said "so r ya gona give ya keys up then or wat" Which took me by suprise let me tell you lol. I replied whilst putting my window up "DONT THINK I AM" so i decided to just drive away. Makes me wonder how people can just do something like that. The worst part was that i couldnt do anything, if i got out and had it out with him im sure his mates would of backed him up or he caould of been carring a knife. How fcensoredd off was i after that.

My top tip, next time don't put your window down, just leave.

In the good old days I would have got out and given him a clout, but these days as you have already suggested it just isn't worth it.

Oh and taking your Mrs to McDs is a red card offence.

Seen this before, not happened to me personnally but its worrying that these fcensoredkwits think they can get away with it. Blinding them in a cloud of tyre and clutch smoke generally gets rid of them rather than having a go which will almost certainly result in a trip to hospital and probably the loss of your car anyway which would be proper scensoredte!!

ha ha ha! Ref wiki:

South Africa also has a bad record for car hijackings when compared to industrialised countries largely associated with the lower rate of car ownership. One South African insurance company, Hollard Insurance, no longer insures Volkswagen Citi Golfs as they are one of the most frequently hijacked vehicles in South Africa[6]. In some areas there are road signs that indicate a high car-jack zone[7].

Crime is a prominent issue in 21st Century South Africa. A survey for the period 1998-2000 compiled by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime ranked South Africa second for assault and murder (by all means) per capita and first for rapes per capita.[1] Total crime per capita is 10th out of the 60 countries in the dataset.

Many emigrants from South Africa state that crime was a big factor in their decision to leave[5]. Crime against commercial farmers has continued to be a major problem in the country.

[Internet Warrior mode]I would have quickly delivered a single blow with a steering lock/wheelbrace and then jumped in the car and sped off before the others had a chance to get involved.[Internet Warrior mode off]

My mate stopped at a mini roundabout last week, two black lads walk up to his car and hold a knife to his face and tell him to get out. Said mate gets out and they both get in drive twenty yards then stop and argue with each other then got out the car and run off???.

He was already in the car I thought.....!

Pretty classy taking your bird out for a McShake but to actually take her in the restaurant may make her think you're showing off and a bit posh !! biggrin

Wasn't there some legal mod in South Africa that essentially shot flames up the side of the car to deter any would be jackers?

ETA - Found it on wiki the "blaster"!! - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaster_(flamethrower...

Mate had that happen to him in a similar location (driving back at night and wanted a dirty burger) 3 people walk to the lead car (crap driver so only a single passenger) and tell him to get out... we noticed this and the other 8 of us got out of the following 2 cars... been on a hockey trip so we tooled ourselves up with hockey sticks.

They didnt notice until the last minute after threatening the driver and asking him to passing his keys across.... he threw them as he noticed us lot in his rear view mirror and they went to go get them back and noticed us about 20ft away... I have never seen 3 hoodies run so fast.. ever.
