Aston One-77 Full Reveal

Pics of first complete car with running gear and interior

Aston Martin’s completed One-77 concept will be unveiled today at the Villa d’Este concours on the shores of Lake Como.

It’s the first time the car has been seen with a full running powertrain, and is the world premiere of the eagerly anticipated interior design. According to Aston the interior environment ‘blends the stunning detail of the exterior and draws it inside with incredible meticulousness through the use of exotic materials and hand made parts’. Unfortunately little of that detail can be made out from the teaser shot supplied this morning.

Last month Aston Martin showcased a technical illustration of the One-77 at the Geneva Auto Salon, revealing the technical intricacies beneath the One-77’s handmade body.

‘The One-77 demonstrates the unique capabilities of our company – it encompasses engineering excellence with a great passion from our engineers, designers and technical partners,’ says Aston Martin chief executive, Dr Ulrich Bez. ‘This is a major step in One-77’s engineering programme, showing the first complete car, and will demonstrate new benchmarks in many different fields of automotive design.’

Still recognisably an AM, but doesn't look like every other one. Good for them. I think it's quite a ballsy design.

Look gorgeous, will go like stink. I want.
One thing though, it has a rear diffuser; why not a "double decker" design?

The interior looks like it will be worth the cash, the exterior is too simaler to the rest of the fleet imo and doesnt look like it will justify its price.

I don't think it needs to justify its price...they could charge 2 million and still sell it.

Dagnut compare this to the Bugati's price.

I know which one I would have for the cash. Yes its a limited run etc but still those that can part with veyron money may be inclined to go for one of those instead.

As ugly as the Veyron is though it has a massive trump card. The Aston does not.

Yes, its nice but £1,000,000 is just totally ludicrous. 99.9% of the population wont be able to afford one, it will be splashed all over every magazine and TV car show and you will all lust after it. Why do we live in cloud cookoo land and feel that we all have to aspire to the unobtainable. It's the equivalant of a 10 bedroomed mansion, a Picasso on your living room wall or a holiday on the moon!

A stunning piece of kit but it dosnt need to be made, just pictures will do, something to emblazzen across the motoring 'jazz' mags you read on the train or in the loo. Sorry but you've got to wake up and smell the coffee, you won't own one!

i would concure with most of the comments, very nice, but its not really anything fantastic, especially for the money. Could they not have spent some money on the wheels, for 1,000,000+ i'd rather not have wheels from a mazda.

And all this boll**ks about handmade body, who really cares, i could handmake a ball of s**t but it still wouldnt be worth any more. All it really means is that when it gets damaged you would have to sell a kid to fix it, but then an aston martin beats an annoying kid anyway. Rant over!!! phew. laugh

By my calculations, if you're correct Aston will sell 60,000 of them in this country alone... biggrin

PH is going all rubbish. Who cares how expensive it is? You'll be moaning about fuel economy next. It's bite-the-back-of-your-hand-and-sell-a-kidney stunning, and for that clap

I adore it. Hopefully some of the design details will filter down to lesser Astons. Especially the rear light treatment.

As for making cars like this, I'll never own one sadly but it does make me like Aston Martin as a brand even more that they've made it. It will always make my day if I ever see one. Now to those naysayers, do you really object to seeing a McLaren F1 on the road? I would imagine not.

Concorde was another pointless expensive exercise but utterly wonderful and hilariously fast. It lifted the spirits to see one like no other passenger plane before it and I'd have no chance of owning one of those either. That's how I look at the Aston 177 and I'm glad to live in a world where such lunacy actually happens. The alternative is to live in a world where bean counters have total control. It's 98% control as it is. So here's to the 2% of wonderful, barmy ideas that actually get through.

I'm just fed up with all the mine's bigger/more expensive/got more hp/cylinders/dvd screens st that has taken over PH. It's turning into the equivalent of Nuts or Zoo magazine. A wk mag for 17 year old souped-up hatchback owners. (I've nothing against hatchbacks by the way!).

I, by the way, am making a 400mph, 20 liter sportscar that is gold leaf & diamond encrusted, does a 2 second 0-60 and 100 mpg, it's a limited run of 1 car......yours for £10,000,000........interested?

If you honestly think like this then PH isn't for you! Honestly, who cares how much it costs? It exists, it is (in my subjective opinion) a thing of beauty, and for that it gets a giant thumbup from me.

In a world where the green agenda is becoming more and more prevalent and we're all being encouraged to drive boring milk floats and made to feel like social pariahs for wanting an engine with more than 1.2 litres of cubic capacity, anyone brave enough to produce stuff like this deserves a medal and our money.

not entirely sure about those Zagato-esque air scoops either side of the grille mind...
