Sorry if this is a repost, I have searched.

Similar to the "Gordon Brown - Please Stay (Petition) with a twist!", only the creator of this petition is serious.

http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/motor-sports/

Take a look at the signatures. biggrin

Yes it's a cretinous petition without an ounce of common sense behind it, but the replies aren't exactly a good advert for motorsport enthusiasts rolleyes

Sorry for the repost... anyway I guess it's not a good advert for motorsport enthusiasts. Funny how the only vocal group on the internet seem to be Tory voting and motorsport watching though.

I doubt it, there are several transatlantic flights involved in F1.

It is funny. I'm a bit disappointed I've been dropping in from time to time on it for laff but only 1 more vote today.
I do enjoy the slightly surreal signatories, particularly "Ban New Potatoes", and "I'd love a dog in a bath with you", which I confess i do not understand, but no one spoil it with awful euphemism.

Need to spread it wider, get a few more wags to contribute...

Er... guys, FFS stop signing this, even if it is just to leave abusive comments (which, as already mentioned, really shows motorsport enthusiasts in a good light - not!). Do you think the Gubbermint will give a toss about the comments? They'll probably just see the number of signatures and conclude that banning motorsports is a really good idea...

I hardly think a few hundred will register, with someone in no10 charged with monitoring these things, or else it wouldve been taken down already, these epetitions don't mean st to the politicians, they only exist to give the appearance of listening, or a direct way to make direct representations to PM.

Does anyone know what they actually do with petitions when get handed in? I suspect immediately handed to admin to be given a destruction date, stored, then shredded Straight into the confidential waste, when the dates up.

Although the replies are very immature that has sort of restored my faith in the electorate.

Nah, the data is stored and filed under "Traitor" (those who sign up to something which the self serving scum disgree with or "Comrade" (you get the picture).
