I think not!

Tobermory (from the Isle of Mull), now thats a good whisky. Having said that Johnnie Walker does have its place, particulary good if you want a whisky and coke.

Oooo, heaven! My fave "not too expensive, so have a bottle or two kicking around"-type is the The Balvenie 12 Year Old Double Wood...

[pedant]Actually, we're wrong... For a WhiskEy (Irish & American) it's okay. Now, whisky (Scottish) is a whole new ballgame... [/pedant]

edited: 'cos I'm a complete arse and somehow misread Johnnie Walker as Jameson's... Well, though of the latter for some reason when reading the former... Erk! Enough said! /hangs head in shame.... Now then... Time to berate ADL for calling it a "whiskEy"

On the rocks... Can't be that bad, most scots i know have it with water

Mind you there are stereotypes with scots and their purses, that links could be drawn to here...

No, I'm not... JW is a scotch, so a whisky... I was mixing the name up with Jameson's as in my edit!

I agree, charlescrawley, nice tipple that. In fact, I have a bottle of Balvenie 10yr behind the bar at the moment. Also The Macallan and Glenlivet. But then, I much prefer Speysides to Islands (too peaty for me).

Had a real thing for Dalwhiney (spelling?) - used to go through it like water until my brother's stag do when we were drinking it until the early hours at the hotel bar and I was later awakened by a hotel porter who'd found me asleep outside someone elses room. Now I can't even smell it without my stomach saying

Second to that has to be Bushmills.

On the rocks with a tiny drop of cold water. Mmmmm...
