I had to pop out last night and go down the road to one of the local shops.

Passing a house down the road there was a cute black & white cat meowing to be let in to a house, when I returned from the shop 10 mins later the cat was still outside meowing. I knew the owners were in because the car was on the driveway next to the house and the lights were on, they probably couldn't hear it over the sound of Eastenders or whatever rubbish they were watching so....

I rang the doorbell and ran round the side to hide, a woman answered the door "..there's no one... oh it's the cat!!!" her husband probably said something like F**k off, or similar as she replied "no, it's the cat, the cat must have rung the doorbell"

I've never laughed so much, silently in my life.

I even had visions of her contacting the local news about her amazing doorbell ringing cat, perhaps a slot on Richard & Judy But never to be repeated, shame

You've got to do this again when the opportunity arises. I can just imagine the local newspaper hearing about the story.

Very good!

Although my cat used to jump up and hang off door handles to get itself in and out of rooms. Crazy ba$tard!

I wonder if anyone around here has a kitten?

Stop it you're giving me ideas now

You know how cats always bring dead animals back (little birds and mice) well I've just thought what I could do with the local road kills, badgers, deer........take one doorstep, a doorbell and one small innocent looking cat

When my cat was particularly small, he brought back a rabbit that was bigger than he was. He was well proud of himself for that one

Sounds like a good prank to use larger animals

When I was a kid, we used to watch the cat over the road leaping up to knock the doorknocker.

What does a proud cat look like then?

that cheered me up no end as i saw a dead cat lying in the road this morning and its made me sad all day...

not just for the cat (obviously) but for the owner's when they find out what has happened...

makes me appreciate the silly bugger i have sitting next to me washing himself, even more!!!

Or build up the kills to more silly things till you end up leaving a bag of wrapped fish and chips or a grilled trout!
(My cat has brought home a cooked minted lamb chop before and it was still hot! Must have swipped it from a BBQ. I was thinking of training it even more so I never had to cook!)

That'll never take off. Who wants a door bell as a pet. That would be just rubbish.
