Cant say Ive been able to find a link to it, but this was probably one of the funniest motoring clips Ive seen in a VERY long time.

IIRC Damon spanked it so hard that he popped the emergency roll-over hoops and caused some serious chassis damage!

Remember that I saw the footage quite recently, somewhere between XMas and New Year, in a BBC 1 program covering bloobers with mrs WeakestLink as hostess.

Yes, there's nothing like a formula 1 driver for wrecking a car; I remember an article about the late Aryton Senna whereby he borrowed someone's rental car for a short while. When the car was returned it was said to be "never the same again"!

It was with Mike Brewer on Driven I think. You know Mike Brewer of the Brewer, Brewer, Brewer chant if anyone else was watching the England Euro Cup Match in the MRI tent at Le Mans (2000 I think).

Is that true about the chassis damage? I remmember watching it and thinking it was so funny as the bloke obviously thought he was quite 'ard (judging by his appearence and voice). I know he got quite a bit of air on the humps and the rollover bar fliped up but I would have thought the AMG would have been up to it...

My old firm sponsored Williams in 97 and 98. Went on a corporate day at Donnington with Frentzen, hooning around in renault spiders and the Donnington Vectra V6's they had at the time..

When things were winding down, Frentzen took 3 of us out in a Laguna which was a Williams staff car. Very entertaining, the poor Laguna was shown no mercy.

it was taken back to the pits with dead brakes and wrecked tires and smelling of overcooked components..

And a piccie of me shaking Frentzens hand is on my office wall right now..

No, it wasn't Brewer. It was the bald bloke, 100% definite.

I remember seeing an interview with Damon somewhere, & he did actually say that something (can't remember exactly what) along the lines of matey had been drinking the previous night or had had a huge brekky or something.

I'm looking for the clip right now so if I find it, I'll let y'all know.

I was at EJ10 as the wifes cousin was working at Jordan at the time, and we were with the staff. They had a raffle with the prize being a few laps of Donnington in a bike engined seven stylee. He was giving it the large potatoes as Mungo would say, finishing off with some donuts at the pit exit.

Also stood next to Fisichella at the urinals. He is a midget. Didn't quite come upto my shoulder.

I have stood next to both Parky, and Dr Legg off Eastenders at Urinals before. Seperate occasions.

That's the chap. Or Dominic "little bit less the night before next time" as he's known now. :-)

I have a very bad copy of the video that I managed to get about 5 mins ago by playing the tape and recording it with my digi cam.

Unfortunately filming a TV means that there's bars across most of the vid

I can post it if you like?

Does your digi cam have A/V In? If so, connect the A/V Out of your VCR to the A/V In of your camera and the quality will jump enormously.

Unfortunately not, it's really a point and shoot digital camera, with 60sec vid feature.

The only camcorder we have uses VHS so I have no way of getting it from the cam to the computer

Must invest in a digital one.

The vid is here if anyone wants to have a look. (right click > save as)
