I thought I'd share with PH a little European Road Trip I took between the 9th and 13th of October.
Leaving Norfolk at around 4:15am, I headed to the Chunnel, over to France. After topping at Reims, I met my brother just east of Strasbourg, before we convoy'ed to Oberwald in Southern Switzerland. I had driven over 800 miles in that day - the most I've ever done. I was shattered!
My brother had organised PistonHeads Swiss Meet for the 10th. Five Swiss cars turned out, including a BMW Z3M, a 996 Turbo, TVR Chimera 500 and 2 Ferraris. We drove a couple of hundred miles over various Swiss passes.
On the 11th, we headed for my brother's girlfriend's place in the Black Forest region of Germany, where we drove more fantastic routes, and had a slight encounter with Nissan GTR
The 12th saw us head for the Nurburgring. We drove 4 laps, where my brother posted a time of 9:22 in his M3 and drove a cautious 10:23 in my Audi.
My brother headed back to his place in Frankfurt, and headed home on the 13th. Before we left the Nurburgring, we had a look around the industrial area, finding Manthey Motorsport and I spied a familiar PHer's Mclaren F1
It's the first one I've seen close up, and it did not disappoint!
We also popped to a viewing point on the circuit to discover a test going on, where we spied the next BMW 5-Series and the forthcoming Audi RS5, among other wonderful vehicles.
Having time to kill, I meandered back the Chunnel, stumbling across Spa-Franchamps before driving through Liege and Brussels. I get home just before midnight.
Anyway, enough of the general description, and on to some photos:
PART 1
PART 2
PART 3
I've also looked at the Nurburgring Webcam Timelapse Video on YouTube from the day we went, and I caught some screen shots on me and my brother

I also have a few videos, but I've not yet sorted through them or uploaded them anywhere. When I have, I'll post them here, too

Thanks guys. It was a excellent trip - and one that won't be easily forgotten!
I thought I'd single out the McLaren F1 photo. There are stone chips across the front and the rear wheel is slightly curbed - it's great to see that such a car is being used
Also note the keys simply left on the windscreen
"Flemke! Is this your McLaren?"
