Rolls Royce Phantom Shoot-em-up

Video: Armoured car company assaults Chichester's finest

Er... click the link if you want to watch a bunch of Germans pumping bullets into a Rolls-Royce Phantom before blowing it up with a land-mine. And let's face it, who doesn't!

The savage assault is all in the name of research, apparently, as German armoured car company Mutec carries out ballistic tests on one of its conversions.

And to think we worry about handing back press cars with kerbing damage...

I wonder if this was a dress rehearsal by someone who'd been fired from the apprentice?

They could at least show some confidence in their product by sitting in the car during the tests...

I like the way it just sits there, accepting it's lot with dignity.

I loved how the charge went off under it and it barely shuddered. Your Martini wouldn't have spilt if your were sat in side biggrin

LOL! You could have won WWI in one of those. Just fit one of those Silver Ghost machine gun turrets on the top...

Huge let down. Was hoping that someone would hop into it after they'd finished testing and drive it away.

I'd quite like that when they have finished teaching the empire a lesson.... I'd be very happy bowling thru' Deutschland in it.
Perhaps need new windshield?

A genuine 'murdered car' for once?

DREARY! I'd have been impressed if someone had stepped out of the car, or if it had driven off. The interior could be an inferno for all we know! Pointless. I'm cancelling my order! Hahaha

Any mention of price?? (not that I can afford a standard Phantom) Shame they didn't drive it away afterwards. Can't imagine there would have been much left of the wheel bolts after the explosions... But looks pretty damn solid! tank

Doesn't really show you much though, does it? For all we know, they could be hollowpoints, or some other bullet designed _not_ to penetrate armour.

FOr a real test, I want to see Arnie strap on guns for 5 inutes (to poundng 80's montage music), before shooting the arse out of it with a large calibre fully automatic rifle (held in 1 arm, witha "flex" pose).

Then, and only then, can we establish if it's as awesome as they claim.
