Replacing windscreens under insurance

Purely hypothetical question of course.

But if my front & rear windscreens were both broken and I had them replaced free of charge using my insurance, would they replace the seal as well, or just the glass?
FWIW the car is a Porsche 996.

Pardon the silly question, but I've never had them replaced before so am unsure if the seals need replacing at the same time.

You're better off trying to keep the old seal, as will be a better bedded fit.

But yes, it includes the seal.

Hypothetically speaking, it's actually the seal thats damaged, and I wondered should the windows be broken, will the seal be replaced too?

I have supplied a new seal for the fitter to use. Was in OEM packaging so he was happy to use it.

If they think you did it, the only thing that will be getting "re-placed" is your a*se, from the sofa to a nice bunk in HMP.

Auto Windscreens supply a rubbish universal seal...if you want a proper OEM seal I think you have to buy it, and tell them to use that instead.
I wouldn't deliberately break the glass, because chances are the monkey fitting the new screen will scratch the paint under or around the seal, which will quickly rust away until it's too late to do anything about it.
