I was wondering if anyone could point me towards some decent forums that have a mainly American user base? I know this site has a US-subforum, but its not very active, and PH in general is almost totally uk/europe based.

No... you don't. You'll only get people calling you 'bro' and 'dude' and people saying that they've flushed their sump out with water while the car was running.Basically im after an American PH

www.vwvortex.com (or any of its aliases triplezoom.com / subdriven.com / mwerks.com / fourtitude.com depending on what flavor banner you prefer) is probably the largest US based web forums I read regularly. There's a large non brand specific area , the car lounge, and many non motoring sections.
