Just wondering, after watching the fuel drain infront of my very eyes in several vehicles I have owned, sometimes seeing single figure MPG, I am interested to know what the lowest MPG you guy have witnessed whilst driving a thirsty vehicle?

The instant readout on the 1985 Corvette could get down to 1 or 3mpg but overall, I'd have to say it wasn't bad. I used to think it was until I realised the display was in smaller US mpg, a mistake propagated by journalists in my experience.

D10 bulldozer. Not sure of the exact MPG figure, but it had a 60 litre engine IIRC

On the road, 12.5 mpg average on a long motorway run, and 7.5 mpg on a city run in a Merc G55K AMG, ETA and that was on the trip computer which has more positive spin than Tony Blair's PR department

On the track, I managed to get through a full 55 litre tank in my Evo in about 80 miles. And to think Clarkson whinged about the Tesla.

Actually, the OP said vehicle, not car

I've driven our boat from Antibes to Monaco and back and used half a tank. That's about 400 litres in 50 miles or 1.8 gallons per mile.

Two massive yank petrol V8's with knackered rings and dodgy injectors. It has two brand new engines now, I reckon it uses half as much fuel as it used too... probably hits the heady heights of 1mpg now.

This frankly shocking

Handles like a pig tripping on acid riding on a skateboard

Obviously the track day Monza is worse on track 180 miles 108L of juice but at least that was fun - that "RV" hasn't bettered 9.5 Mpg (US Gall) and I'm driving it like a judge!!!

The humble tvrolet, when driven hard returns a heady 1 mile per litre. I've never had the courage to convert that to mpg.

I actually looked at buying a small boat, the fuel consumption was frightening!
