Have seen and even PH has documented (real) gold plated cars like the Dubai Bugati and various Ferrari 599's I've seen (not a wrap but the actual!) Has anyone got any pics or ever heard of gold plated rims? Would it work? What are the implications of having it done as a material on a wheel?

The implications of having it done on the material of a wheel, is that everyone will think you are an audacious cock!

It is perfectly possible.

I know there was a company that advertised on Lexus Owners Club that does mobile Gold Plating.

Although gold maybe a little bit too far...even on the roller.

I don't know what the life would be like of the gold plating though.

lol leaving the roller alone! new project....Im pimping out the continental GT now!

Plans are (brace yourselves!)
Pearl White Wrap by totally dynamic,
Tinted Windows,
Have bought brand new chrome 20inch Bentley rims which are in the next room being stripped and gold plated tomorrow lol have no idea how they will last in this weather and generally as a rim as 24carrot gold is at the end of the day a soft metal!
Grill/Stripes around windows/exhaust gold plated lol

Gulzar, you are a crazy man but I've admired your thread in Readers Cars for a while now.

Not to my taste, but fair play to you sir - it's your money so do with it what you wish.

There is a problem with this. Every time you park, rabbits will go for your wheels.

I'd love to say something positive about this but...I can't.

Fair play though, as mentioned it's your own cash and you should do with it whatever makes you happy. smile

A novel way of investing in gold...just don't go kerbing it anywhere, or the council will think it's payday

Actually I take it back; nothing says 'fk the Poor' quite like a gold Roller hehe#

Hats off to you Gulzar. Like Paul said, it's your money and you sure as hell can't take it with you.
