What makes me laugh is when they make out they are selling the vehicle as they are desperately short of space, and then go on to list what vehicles they are willing to swap/px for. wkers.

Selling due to needing a bigger car. P/x poss, WHY, MX5, Elise, TVR.

I once made the mistake of saying I may be intersted in a p/x with a car I had on an ebay advert. Fatal. I was flooded with emails offering me heaps of st at grossly optimistic prices.

Always be weary of people willing to consider any car as a p/x. It usually menas there are desperate to get rid of their dog.

Yup. With: Nah, not really what I am looking for, but tell you what, you give me £x,xxx and yours...Yeah?

Not as annoying as POA.

I had that as well! When I offered the TVR I had offers *hot* Novas, Corsa, custom crap and even a very low milage 'mint' montego.
When you polity decline its amazing how much abuse is returned.

Also: Toyota Prius. Why? For god's sake, why? In this context, it means why?

I've had this before too, I mistakenly put "may part ex for something RWD and interesting" and was offered all manner of sh!te, mainly chavved up vectras and the like. Amusing if noting else.

Not necessarily true. If, like me, you often chop and change cars, then a swap can save the hassle of a)selling your car and b) buying another one. Be very wary though if you meet for a potential swap and the other person doesn't spend time checking your car out, prob means they don't care and want rid of their old shed wink Had this a couple of times with a mate.

No harm in it though, you do get lucky sometimes-I swapped a Saab diesel that I hated for my M5 which I love cool

POA is the most annoying! Best thing is to ring up and ask and then respond with HA HA HOW MUCH? YOU ROBBING bd!!!

That may stop them doing it in the future....

I have never never looked further into a car that had POA in the advert and I doubt I ever will.

Good cars generally sell themselves with little effort. Dogs are passed from pillar to post by alternative methods like 'swapsies', auction and p/x. The sort of stuff you get offered when you put 'WHY' in the adverts is proof of this.

Not in all cases, but as a general rule what I say is fair.
