Haven`t flown in a glider for ages and would love another go. Any glider pilots on here that would welcome a bunch of pistonheaders and their cars for a day out?

Ooh, I would love to do this also. I've only flown in a Sedbergh and Air Cadet MkIII. I would love a go in a proper glider...and would be willing to exchange a flight for a go in my Ferrari!

Sounds interesting! Is it expensive?? what are the sort of costs? It would make a change from track days for an adrenaline rush.

It`s wonderful - and not expensive. Just though it would make a great day out. I`ll ring round. Personally thinking of Lincolnshire but obviously there are clubs all over.

I can supply the "Thomas Crown affair" music to go with it

I thought that a member of a site called Pistonheads wouldn't own anything without an engine!

lol my first solo in an aircraft was at 16 in a motorised glider, use engine to take off then switch it off on the downwind leg and glide the thing in.

Lol...that looks like a Sedbergh, but with the lead ballast replaced with an engine!

Kind of takes the fun out of the whole "Take up slack"..."All out!" thing?

Before we did the Venture course myself and my mate joined a gliding club, I remember running the wing with him and he groundlooped it crashing and smashing the tail in...we took the pi55 a lot at the time but I think he's laughing now, last I heard he was a first tourist instructor on Hawks ! Damn, would love to do this again. Used to fly a Pugacz (sp??) in the university gliding club. Think I am probably too wide to get in now and too heavy for it to get off the ground. Good incentive to get exercising though.

OK - Count me in... But somewhere a bit more accessible would be preferable.
