Renault 5 gt turbo off ebay for a few hundred quid and turn the boost up a bit. not much will touch it for the same money. you can pretty much guarantee that it will blow up though!

Bike engined kit car. Sure you can get one for around 4k.
My old fury fireblade did 0-60 in, well, fast.

Cheap Lotus Elise S1.

GT5 Turbo is a good call.

A cheap Elise S1 wont touch a bike engined kit car, and will cost more too.

Although prices do seem to be on the rise for them again..thankfully, you will be able to pick up a snotter R for less than 2k.

But yes, I agree with this.

Of course you might only do it once before the gearbox let go wink They do have a certain reputation...

I think you've got to strike a balance between cheapest and fastest in your question. One car may be a bit cheaper than another, but slower too. Had you set a limit for either factor then it would be a lot easier to come up with an answer as you'll get a lot more for £3k than you would for £300, and a lot more still if you up the budget to £10k.

Probably the one I've got sat in my garage.

Fisher Fury spider lightweight. Fireblade engine. 95% finished.

For Sale. (Probably around the £2.5k mark)

(It is my mates and space is needed pronto).

You could probably get that for around 2k at the moment. Mine cost under 4k, and just chucking away all the heavy bits it's close to a 4s 0-60.

There's plenty of jap turbo nutter cars, none have the traction off the line like the MR2 thanks to the mid engined layout.

I'm bet my left ball you could get a better 60ft time in a Pulsar than an MR2.
