The flip side to running a low cc car

Back in october I sold my 2.0 Mondeo and decided to 'share' a car with my soon to be 17 year old son. Bought a 99' Clio 1.2 and congratulated myself on an asute purchase, small engine with no power, no electric toys to go wrong, no alloys to kerb, mpg in the 40's, very cheap for me to insure and not too bad for him once he passes his test.

fast forward to now, needed a few things for its MOT but to be expected for a car of that age, got me to work during all that snow and tbh was enjoying cheap motoring for a change. You do have to drive it 'like you stole it' but thats ok as i know what i'm doing (what i tell my lad)

My outlook was somewhat diminished when a got overtaken (read whooped) by an........Allego Ok must have been a V8 special, i was in the wrong gear, wasnt even racing, he slipstreamed me, foot slipped of the pedal etc etc.

That was a couple of weeks ago and i'd forgotten about it until today.........when i got overtaken by a HEARSE!!! I'm so glad it didnt have a body in the back and a line of black cars behind it.

So it was fun, for about a month, but thats it, time for the classifieds

Was that on the A5 near Brownhils because there is a ginger kid up there who drives a hearse like he appears in the Munsters.

Most years I see one leaving the beaulieu auto-jumble with the back full of rusty junk.

The joys of crap car ownership, you get used to it.

As for the hearse I am quite tempted to pick one up on the cheap and run it, of course I would have to add a coffin for effect.

A GINGER kid who drives a HEARSE.....poor bugger! He must get the piss ripped out of him!

Hearses normally have the big engines of the model range that the body was bdised from.
