The answer to that eternal "I've got £25K to spend, what should I buy?" thread.

March '04 Car Magazine has some supercar suggestions:
1. Ferrari 328
2. Mercedes SL600
3. Honda NSX
4. Bentley Turbo R
5. Audi RS2
6. BMW M5
7. Nissan Skyline GT-R33
8. Porsche 911 (964) Turbo
9. Jaguar XKR
10. Lotus Esprit S4

Good to see that the Audi barge was second quickest on the list, missing out to the blown Porker by only 0.1 sec on the 0-60 dash.

So, what would you buy? Ten very different but very desirable cars catering for all PH tastes.

S4 Esprit is more like 15k, not 25. For 25 you are easlily in Esprit v8 twin turbo territory. ie 0-100 in 9.1seconds..

I was wondering how long it would take someone to point that out.
Totally agree though

I really can't believe there is no mention of a TVR.

RS2 without a second thought. Although the car I've got is only a shade off the same spec and suits me better so probably the 328.

imho

A griff 500 is quicker than half that list, and prettier than the other half, (not going to mention which half )

Also you can get a very good one for £25k or less.

So which car would you remove from the list to replace with a TVR? Bear in mind that there is only room for ten on the list, and in producing content for a magazine you want to appeal to as broad a readership as possible....

I'd be seriously tempted by the 911 turbo or the Skyline. Probably go for the skyline for the reliability and tuning potential.

PHEW......thought no-one was going to plump for the Skyline there! I'd like to see the reasons behind everyone's choices though. It's all very well saying I'd have car Y over car X, but why?

Personally I'd go for the Skyline; 4WD, 2.6 straight six, twin-turbo, tuning potential of up to & over 1000bhp if you've got the money, 4 USABLE seats AND it's just about the meanest looking car out there.
