Ferrari 599 GTO Prices And Pics Leaked

Hardcore £285k 599 revealed in all its stripy glory

This sketchy photo - apparently smuggled straight out of Maranello - is allegedly the first shot of the forthcoming Ferrari 599 GTO.

The chaps at motoring newscast FastLaneDaily - who broke the story - claim the pic is the real deal, although the jury is still out on that one.

FastLaneDaily's $400,000 (299k euro) punt on the GTO's price is certainly pretty close to the mark, though. Dutch website Autogespot has got hold of what seems to be a copy of the GTO's price list, complete with a comprehensive list of options, which sets the price of the GTO at 319,495 euros (£285k).

The price list also casts some light on the leaked spy shot itself - the list of options includes 'Colour from 50's and 60's range' (8432 euros), 'Historic GTO stripes' (7176 euros), and 'Racing stripes' (7176 euros). Seems that the blue stripes on white paint of the leaked image could well be on the money...

The new 599 GTO was originally expected to be launched at the Geneva show, but Ferrari chose to reveal a hybrid concept of the 599 instead.

When it does finally arrive, the 599 GTO is expected to weigh in at under 1650kg (40kg less than the standard 599GTB), while power should peak somewhere beyond 650bhp (the standard car gets 'just' 612bhp). Word on the grapevine is that the GTO will get a de-tuned version of the engine from the track-only 599 XX - and that has 720bhp...

Am glad they're launching a 650 bhp version. I'm finding my standard 599 a bit gutless.

Don't really understand why they're using such a heavy car for this. Surely a F430 GTO would make more sense? Also doesn't really tie in with their "lighter weight, not more power" supposed future route.

Nice car that 599, now with proper bhp output.

Eye-watering expensive options as always.

If you make them expensive enough they will sell, white is a great colour IMHO.

If it is like the 360cs then the strip will be painted.

Love the 'handy fire extinguisher' in the price list. is that as opposed to a 'difficult to find fire extinguisher' then?

Fabulous looking colours and a great spec re weight and power - what the original 599 should have been?

I thought that it was only painted on the press cars and if you ordered the stripe for your 360 CS then it came as a sticker? Or have I got that the wrong way round?

Either way it was about £3.5K on the 360 CS
