No not in that way. I'm actually still shocked by what happend to me yesterday. Me and a guy I work with did a job in the kings head pub on the fulham road yesterday, we were there all day and had parked in a couple of pay and displays. Once we had finished at about 17.00 we started to pack our gear away but we had amased quite a lot of rubbish (lenghts of timber and bags of stuff) so I said we should go and get our vans and stop outside the pub, load up and go.

So we park the vans outside the pub on double yellows, hazards on, not obstructing traffic, no bus drivers giving us dirty looks or anything. We were there for no more than five minutes when two traffic wardens appear and start hurling a tirade of abuse at us, no polite warning to move. One of them was a big fker (at least 6'5) he actually said "move your fking van you fking idiot" I explained that we were just loading up and asked him who did he think he was? he actually said "I'm here to tell you to move your fking van". I was livid and tried to take his name and number to make a compaint to his employer, at this point I thought he was going to get physical. His mate just stood there laughing, I jumped in my van and drove off and I was really shook up.

I can't help but think that he must go around doing this all day.

To be honest it was worse than that but I didn't want the post to be too long. I have never known anything like it. I know I shouldn't have parked there but what gave him the right to talk to me like that?

No he kept moving so I couldn't see it. And as I said he was huge and I'm only 5'8. I was actually readying myself for a punch up. I was shaking as I drove off.

I'd still make a complaint

why dont you make a complaint to the police? they will have the power to find who was on duty. and if as you say, you think he does this to everyone all day, there is likely to be other complaints?

I think you could still complain. You know the time, the patch he was covering and a pretty distinctive description. It's worth a go.

Thanks guys. I just made an online complaint via the LBHF website. If I don't get a reply I'll contact the police because I did feel threatened. It must be a power trip thing to them.

Hope you get this sorted, but it doesn't mater how tall they are. The taller they are the harder they fall

I thought that. But can you imagine the amount of bird I'd get for nutting him? I'm quite calm when it comes to arguments but the shock of what I was hearing sent my blood pressure through the roof. I just hope the complaint is taken seriously.

I think you will find that the complaint will be taken seriously. You just need the date/time/location, and a description of the tt - that should be enough.

I hope he gets what he deserves.

Complain. I'm sure you can give a decent enough description for them to be able to identify him.

Don't take this personally. It's not really aimed at you more at the society that this country has created.

Why the fk did you take his abuse and move your van?

Why didn't you tell him to do one and call the police as you're about to batter some tt who you fear for your safety from.

I'm sick of s like this who think they can push people around for no reason. I would have taken great pleasure in phoning the old bill then getting in my van and flicking the Vs out of the window!

Definitely complain, I'm sure they'll know who you're talking about if he was that tall, I doubt they'll do anything to the guy though.

I guess it's easy to think of these things after the event but sounds like the OP was genuinely shook up by the aggression so probably wasn't thinking about hanging around for the police.

Becks is right. In a stress situation, thats NOT how the mind and body is designed to deal with things.

When you get a sudden stressor such as this, it's fight or flight, not clever ideas.

First thing you learn on a flight deck is that if you get wound up, your field of vision actually gets smaller, you block out other stimuli, and the brain goes into an almost binary processing mode. It cant dealwith complex. Around about then, thats when you kill yourself.

All these people who come out with 'I'd do this, me' and proceed to give you the A-Team worthy master plan, well, chances are they've never been closer to a confrontation since Primary school than a keyboard.

OP, feel for you, and mate, I hope you get a result. You did the right thing.

Now see, when he called you a "fking idiot" you should have replied with "I'm not the one who applies stickers to car windscreens for a living" hehe

arent you allowed 20mins unloading on anything yellow unless on a raised pedestrian curb bit or with the little yellow lines on the actual pavement themselves?
