I'm planning on buying the little man an electric car for his birthday. Initial thoughts are to get him something like this

http://www.rideoncars.co.uk/car-showroom/12v-ride-...

and supervise him closely for the first couple of years. Will the Mrs make me regret going for something so "powerful"? I recall there is someone on here that sells these - anyone got a link please?

Hey op!, unfortunately I can't remember the name of the company but they operate on ebay (just type in ride on electric cars) they sell replica ferrari and lambo electric cars for children (got the ferarri one for my boy the lambo one unfortunately didn't look to good!) The main advantage of these car is that they are equipped with a remote control for the parents.
So I can control the car while he's in it and when he's a little older he can drive it too!, car comes with a full sound system speaker in the rear of the car with full working lights!.
I have posted pics of it on here before but I'm on my mobile so unable too sorry, best to search for the company on ebay iirc it cost about £120! Hope that helps!
P.s. The remote control feature is brilliant as its like driving a huge RC car hehe

I've still got in the garage a Rolls Royce Corniche electric car, that was bought for me when I was two.

The batteries are fecked, but it's still in full working order.

Bloody loved that thing, and can't wait until the kids are old enough to use it (they're 4 & 2 at the mo, and I wasn't comfortable - read st scared! until I was about 5 or 6).

Although from memory, various supervising adults' ankles did suffer!!

Brilliant idea OP, go for it!

We have something similar for my lad, although he's a bit big for it now. They are great fun, kids pick it up immediately (our was driving at 2). Just make sure you get a proper 12v one, the 6v ones are rubbish. Highly recommended if you have the space to store/use it

Brought the yellow lambo for my lad (he wanted a yellow car), RC is great fun, battery lasts a good while & he's had hours of fun out of it

Maybe a Hayabusa engine would fit?

I had one of these from quite a young age and thought it was fantstic. They aren't fast at all so you dont really have to worry about your kids injuring themselves, although possibly at two they may stuggle with the controls. I would say possibly hold off for another year until the kids a bit older

You can make the money back by getting him to drive into your Christmas tree and sending the video to You've Been Framed.

The guy that sells them is Maserspider usually found in the business forum. I think that is his site.
