I've seen Veyrons, Enzos, Focus Rs', X-Bows, a Lexus LFA....infact pretty much every new car you could imagine except the car that has been voted sports car of the year by many publications....the Lotus Evora. Who's buying it and why arn't there more on the road. I remember when the Elise first came out, they were every where but the Evora....No. frown Is there too much competition, has Lotus lost it's appeal? What is it competing with?

I've seen three. One Lotus development car a year or so before it was released, one soon after they came out and one yesterday. I'm not sure why there are so few about - perhaps it's the price and (relative) lack of power? Maybe people are putting their money with a 911 or GT-R? Shame really, as I think they're very nice.

Saw my first one yesterday on the A46 near Coventry, dark grey metallic didn't do much for the shape imho, looked too much like a large elise, nothing "wow" about it frown

I guess the Evora is aimed at a significantly smaller market than the Elise because it's a fair bit more expensive. I've seen a couple of Evoras on the road, but thinking back, I doubt I've seen any more 59 plate or later Caymans.

I've only seen one Europa.

I saw one on display at a racecourse last year but haven't seen any on the roads, as the back seats seemed to be almost useless I couldn't really see the point of it as it was quite a bit more expensive than an Exige or Elise.

I've never seen one on the road either. How many have they sold?

I don't know, not many but then they never planned to sell a huge number. I think the plan was to sell 2000 a year, more than half of those in the US.

There are a couple in one of the Brighton showrooms and I have to say they do look very, very nice.

To be fair thought they were always going to be a smaller volume seller than the Elise and you don;t see those every day do you? And they've been out for well over 10 years!

I saw one a few weeks ago, and to be honest I was immediately bowled over by it.

The one in Poole might belong to Westover who sells them. I took one out a few weeks ago. Lots of grip and compliant ride. Pretty pokey in sport mode. Excellent driving position. Came away thinking the build quality would put me off. Interior felt cheap to me and a lot of the detailing just looked a bit amateurish - at this price point. Gearbox felt very clunky, vague and long throw. Just can't see too many people parting with their hard earned compared to German opposition. Sad to say..

There's about 5 in the carpark at work. Looks mean in black, though lighter colours do show of that lovely waistline towards the rear.

I've only seen one in the metal. And that was at a PH Sunday Service so hardly counts.

I agree that it is a bit odd. Not surprised that you have seen a few Focus RS though; surely there is a much wider audience for them.

Come to think of it I've only seen one Europa in the wild too.
