So the other night I was driving with my girlfriend shotgun talking about cars. She was bored, but I was undeterred and tried to coax out of her, her dream car. We concluded that if I were to get rich I would need a hangar for storage, and the conversation then took a turn. A shiney, immaculate, red and noisey Lancia Delta overtook me to which my girlfriend turns her nose up at.

Her words were along the lines of "disgusting" and "chav". Now I can see why she would say that, but I still wanted to beat her with in an inch of her life.

This conversation then spilled over to me and a like minded petrolhead about which cars would the untrained eye be most surprised at, if they just looked at it, then were taken for a spin. So like sleepers, for people that know nothing about cars.

My contribution was

and obviously

Flanders.

Good call on the Monaro - I suppose to the untrained eye it looks a bit like some sort of Vectra coupe!

My contribution was

2 things.

i) What was her dream car?
ii) I assume she must have other redeeming qualities? biggrin Maybe a few pics would help wink

ive got to admit that on the way back from ordering my car from arnold clark in paisley an aston martin overtook me and my boyfriend and i said...'whats that?looks like a very fancy car' OH confirmed it was indeed a very fancy car and that it was an aston martin...to my embarresment as my cousin owned one, but i had only ever seen it from the front!!! Got to admit when i talk to one girl-friend in particular she has no idea on what car is what! she even mistook a saxo for a clio because in her words 'there the same colour'

I was out in the lorry with my driver's mate (who knows nothing) when we came across one of these. I, obviously, started dribbling and gushing praise upon the legendary Lancia and how if it wasn't for that car we wouldn't have the Subarus and Imprezas we have today.

He said "What, that Golf with the stupid body-kit?"

To add to that- my Ex expressed amazement that I was so excited about seeing a Caterham go by- she thought it was some quaint antiquated plodder.
