Can anyone help with this? I imagine there is an adjuster on the back of the lever but this is hidden by the carpet, the only way to get to it would be to cut a hole or remove seats etc to move the carpet

Crawl underneath. Remove exhaust. Remove exhaust heatshield. Swear at seized solid adjusters. Put on heatshield. Put on exhaust. Drive to Renault dealer and buy new cables with adjuster. Drive home. Get underneath. Burn hand on hot exhaust. Wait an hour. Remove exhaust. Remove heat shield. Remove rear wheels. Remove rear drums. Replace cables. Adjust. Replace heat shield. Replace drums. Replace wheels. Replace exhaust. Job done.
