Good evening all

I have recently just sold my Corrado VR6 due to my lack of time and resources(8 month old baby) the sale was sort of out of the blue and i am now using Mrs Scouse`s little corsa, the Corrado had done 150,000 and was brilliant, i really miss it but it was getting heavily stone chipped and wasnt right to keep using it daily.

i now need basically a good run around for about £1500 something fun and fairly economical (50 miles a day to work) something also interesting

please help im stuck,

Did consider a alfa GTV or a 306 XSI or Dturbo, i am trying to find a ren 19 16v but to no joy.

Cheers

Alfa 156 V6... smile

I think Alfa T/S engines are fine as long as you keep the oil topped up as they don't have huge sumps. I did some reading on them when looking at a 146.

£400 on a decent circa. 2000 Ford Mondeo, and £1,100 on a Mazda MX5.

Or just the Mondy - I love mine, it's sodding ace.

Can't say I loved my '97 Mondeo 2.0 at all though the Mk III might be better. i bought a Golf III GTI which does everything it needs to and is quite a solid motor returning 26-36mpg dependent on the incline. Much better drive than the Mondeo and far more compact which counts for a lot.

But didn't you say GTV in your op?

How about an MG or Rover.

My brother had a 200 BRM. These where a limited edition (700 I think). Lots of unique parts including a front limited slip diff and close ratio gearbox and very cool custom leather interior. Pretty quick too 7.x sec to 60mph.

After the BRM he had a ZS180, it has the excellent 2.5KV6 engine. Really quite a rapid machine, loads of fun and could still average over 30mpg.

He ran these for around 4 years just about and quite a few miles. Only issue I can recall was a blown bulb for the clock (on both of them rolleyes )
