After a hard days work at Costco and having walked the four odd miles home. On the way seeing many a chavved up Saxo and Fiesta s
tboxes that have slowly started to infest the area alongside the normal 'white goods' cars. I think to myself that its been a while since I had seen a decent car in my own area. Just as I turn the final corner before my road, there was a Black OY59 plate Nissan GTR. Weird thing is, it made me smile. I haven't done that for a while since seeing a lovely F355 on the Watford ring road many moons ago. What made me smile even more was that the person (obviously visiting the guy that owns the pristine RX7) also had a lovely Pistonheads sticker on the rear 3/4 window.
So anyone else had a car give them a smile after a crappy day?

Went out for a hoon one day and I thought I was following a Mini Mule (Covered in a White and black design).. The idea of it being a mule nearly made my day. I got closer, and it turned out it was zebra print.. I had a good laugh about that.
About 20 minutes later, I see something sitting very low on the ground.. Got closer, turns out it was a Lotus Esprit! With a Dublin reg, followed that for a bit, and it gave me a big smile too!

Was out over the weekend enjoying some rather narrow unclassified roads. Stopped for a piss and a breather and a seriously commited bikist came flying along, that made me smile. Around a minute or two later 3 more passed, although not as quickly.
Seeing anyone enjoy their vehicle in such an enthusiastic way always makes me smile, be it a bike, car or tractor.

Yup. Been there done that. Saw a white 997 GT2 today that cheered me up some. Took the long route home the other day to follow a White Gallardo (despite there being a white Gallardo spider in the office car park every day) and got wave from some chap driving a minty '68 Beetle today too.
Mortals will never understand.

In early summer 2008, just finished a Satuday night-shift and was heading the long way home at about 07:30 on Sunday morning when i entered a village and at the junction pulled out behind a battered old Merc Sprinter, i figured i would wait till the next straight and dispatch him. Not a chance, the driver nailed it everywhere the back end was hanging out on most corners it was a fanastic display of commitment and i sat behind watching in admiration as this van took corners at the same speed as my MR2, 10ish miles later i finally got past on a bit of dual-carriage way and waved at the driver. I got a wave back from a very smiley middle-aged woman and her terrified looking male passenger. Absolutely balls out driving and it still makes me smile thinking about it now.

+1 But with a focus estate, thought I'd P all over it and he ended up showing me the best way through the lanes in devizes that I was very unfamiliar with, truely smile provoking driving!
I had recently picked up my Impreza and was taking it for a little stretch down some of the back roads. A friend of mine wanted to come along so I picked him up and went for a little blast.
Once I'd got on to the roads I remember our conversation:
Mate: So, these roads, are they just town roads or your little backroads?
Me: They're country roads - been on them with the car club before. You'll probably know once you get on them as they're such fun.
As soon as we hit the road a Ferrari came round the other side with the tail hanging out - not dangerously, mind, but in a very controlled slide on the correct side of the road. The exhange was then:
Mate: Time to dance?
Me: Of course.
Cue a very enjoyable first thrash around, er, some roads!
