A very odd thing happened today....

I was driving along western road/north circular when up ahead i saw two cars have a coming together. A blue beetle (new one) tried to cut across from lane 2 to a slip road/offramp at the last second however misjudged it appeared and hit the back rh corner of a ford galaxy in lane 1.

Both cars braked and slowed and then beetle carried on off the dual carriageway and galaxy carried on down the carriageway with neither having actually stopped and exchanged details.

I went past the galaxy a mile or two later and it had fairly substantial damage where it had been hit.

Never seen anything like it. Anyone have any idea what goings on where? My guess is that neither were insured and somehow both kinda knew and felt it best to pretend it didnt happen and keep on going and fix it out of their own pockets.

NW London, I'd say you'd got it in one. Or if the Galaxy had missed the exit at that point maybe they realised that they wouldn't be able to catch the beetle.

Pure panic from both of them? Probably both insured but haven't a clue what to do when it's needed...
