Impressed tbh,

Got a db9, so 450bhp. Pulled out behind a 335i both overtaking the same car. He gunned it i was a bit late reacting but did the same the 335 shot off, once revs were up and i was into 4th i caught him fairly quickly and passed him. Reason i am impressed is i have done a track day against a 2008 m3 and it was a very similar story on the straights, these 335is have to only be ever so slightly slower than the m3. I was expecting it ot be easier. Anyone on here had one and also experienced m3 power? What do you reckon to the both, comparisons?

This was performed on a private track, all legal

He is pondering a comparison between a 33i and an M3.. What is so wrong about that?

Cousin has a 335i cab and previously had a 2006 M3(SMG) cab and he does say that in the real world there is very little in them and he is pretty capable behind the wheel so does give them a bit.

well I think there's a good 150bhp difference between a 530 and an M5 (E39)

How does the power to weight ratio of a DB9 compare to a 335i?
That could maybe explain why you were surprised?
I would have thought a DB9 would be a bit heavier than a 335i, could be wrong though.

I told myself weight would factor. I have just been reading up the specs and actually i see why it was such a tough cookie. 5.3sec to 60 and decent torque. My ego is not so damaged now. I guess in the real world DB9s aren't quite as quick these days when you compare them to super saloons, and anythign german.

I think the low down torque of the 335i (twin turbo) might have helped, and they are quick cars....

maybe it was chipped like this one
