My mate has inherited a Datsun 120Y. Its in a garage at a house he has just bought. He has full right to sell the car and has offered it to me to sell on for a profit. I dont know anything about them if its worth anything and where would it be best to sell the car.

I will probably go to see it at the weekend, he said its in great condition but he aint got a clue about cars so i take it with a pinch of salt. All i know is its an S reg

Any ideas or suggestion would be greatlt accepted.

It will depend on the mileage and condition but it would have to be completely mint to reach 4 figures IMHO

There is something about them that I quite like.. although I can't put my finger on what!!

Was this the Jap's answer to the Capri Escort?

They used to rot like blazes. I lived in Wembley for a bit some time ago and it was full of the things, all with more holes than bodywork and looking like complete ste. If it really is in good condition make sure to go mad with the Waxoyl.

Had one to drive round a field when I was 15 - rusty rusty, guessing if it has lasted this long then it's worth a look - something different after all.

Seem to recall removing the front wings with a good pull (yes, that rusty) and the bonnet with another, not quite sure why, seemed like a good idea and sprayed mud/grass in the air.... and meant I could see the inner wings and suspension tops flexing as I thrashed it about... very, err, safe!

I remember sleeping in a 120 in Blackpool on a Friday night because we went down a day early for a drinking session and didn't get into the digs till Saturday. Uncomfy as fk. I would have a 120 in a minute but they are rot boxes. If it is solid underneath you have won a watch. Wont make you a lot of money but it is a marmite car. Sell it to me for £2

Just put a Methanol/Turbo Rotary engine in it
and go 7sec on the quartermile, like the puerto ricans do yikes
Very small cars with short wheelbase and narrow axles,
yet these insane guys are even doing 6s @ 200mph in them,
and then pootle back to the pits under their own power.
