Buying a car to sell?
Discussion
So I'm curious, is there any way to buy a car, with the specific intention of selling it, without having to wait for the V5 to return with you as the new owner, and therefore having an extra owner on the car than there should be?
i.e. How do you become a very basic motor trader? Without planning on going anywhere near the VAT threshold, just testing the waters so to speak.
Thanks

wweeelll....you could just not re-register it?
So buy the car and take the entire V5C off the old owner (maybe give some of the 'I'll post it off for you' spiel).
Two problems...
As a seller I wouldn't let you do that, I know it's my responsibility to send the V5C off after the sale of the car.
As a buyer I would want to know why the car was being sold from an address other then the one written on the V5C.
Probably illegal too...

Haha I had already ruled out going down that route. I guess you have to register as a part-time motor trader, not that I have any clue how you do that!So buy the car and take the entire V5C off the old owner (maybe give some of the 'I'll post it off for you' spiel).
