Probably not quite what the title says, but I was going down the M3 today and saw what must have been a brand newly qualified (just 17), blonde girl driving a Porsche Carrera 4S that daddy had quite obviously bought her and it kind of pissed me off a little.

It may well have been pure green envy, but I started thinking about the kind of people who have awesome cars, simply because of the prestige attached to them when these cars could have quite easily gone to someone that would have really enjoyed them for what they were. It is quite possible that this 17 year old (quite fit, I may add) blonde, posh bird may have know her Lambo from her Lancia, but the way she was driving was purely 'I've got a Porsche and you haven't, ergo, I am better than you', if you know what I mean?!

Is there anyone else that feels this way, or is it just my green eyed monster coming out once again?!!! If it's not just me, what kind of driver annoys you when you see the car they are driving?

The ditherers - unable to decide whether they want to travel 10 or 30 below the speed limit so speed fluctuates randomly, suddenly brake from slow to even slower mid-corner or when another car is approaching, wandering aimlessly from side to side even on straight roads, they practically stop in the middle of the road to figure out how to negotiate an intersection...

I don't know many people who would turn down a nice motor if offered one. That said, anyone who has scrimped and saved to buy something they fancy will value it far more than someone who hasn't. Maybe a touch of green eyed monster feelings with the OP (although easily understood).

Hmm, my list of annoying drivers would be:

(i) Anyone who thinks that their driving ability is actually significantly better than it is...

(ii) People who sit up my chuff on A roads... Either you are quick enough to overtake or you're not, simple!

(iii) Idiots who flash me on the motorway. Unless you happen to be Plod, Trumpton or an Ambulance then you seem not to understand that if I am in lane three on the motorway it is for a reason, and this is that I am overtaking things moving more slowly than me. Flashing just indiciates that you wish to play a little game of "get in the way of the tosser" and see how long I can ensure you are held up... If you were of that much value to society you'd either have a Police escort or be able to afford a helicopter. I really couldn't care what car you happen to be driving or how important you consider yourself to be, stop driving like a nobber and I won't treat you like one!

(iv) People who don't wave a thank you. A cheery wave goes a long way and what goes around comes around...

Yup, agree with this. Think it was a case of the green eyed monster, op.

Those who don't pay attention and leave a trail of carnage in their wake but think they are a safe driver because they drive 5 below the limit.

No-one really bothers me much. I'm pretty relaxed behind the wheel. I seldom am in a rush to get anywhere. However, saying that, I do get slightly irate when you come behind someone who won;t budge over from the middle lane, out the outside lane. Actually, thinking about it, the fkers that don't move over on a slip road do my nut in as well. In fact, what about the blithering idiots who wait for the light to turn green before releasing the handbrake, depressing the clutch, putting it into gear, and releasing the clutch whilst 'slowly' applying some throttle... They get on my fking nerves... Actually, I;m quite furious sat here now! Veins popping out of my forehead! Aaargh, one just burst!!

people that drive at 40 in a 60 (which is fine by itself) that then speed up to 60 once you have overtaken them

They're not as bad as the ones who overtake you at 60 and then slow down to 40!

The type of driver that irritate me are tthe ones that have absolutely no awareness of what is going on around them. I find them worse than aggressive drivers, or careless drivers as at least the aggressive and careless drivers have some modicum of interest as to what is happening around them.

How someone can pilot something without caring what lane they are cutting across, or blissfully pulling out in front of someone without looking, or ploughing into the back of someone from not paying attention is utterly beyond me...

Or do 40 in the 60 and then continue at 40 into a 30, piss boiler.
Just show how unaware they are of their surroundings.

Chavs tearing around with windows rolled down playing there tunes at stupid volume
Old people that really do not have the confidence or reactions to drive safely
People that drive at 40mph everywhere, regardless of the speed limit
People that drive new beetles with a stupid flower in the dash
People with no lane discipline on roundabouts; just straight lining them
People with no respect for their own or anyone elses car
Drink drivers
Uninsured drivers
People that park outside my house and overhang my driveway
Daewoo / Chevy Matiz drivers
People that overtake at high speed on blind bends and kill my friend

All of the above.

One I'm beginning to notice more is tail-gating on dual carriageways, extremely irritating.

Easy enough to get away from but the fact they could easily overtake is what gets me.
