Apologies for this one, I consider myself quite well versed with cars but cant be sure what I saw today - It's almost embarrassing that I have to ask. I was driving at reasonable pace so didnt get a great look, anyway:

Y-reg Coupe (so 2001).

Diagonal/angled swage line.

Not small.

Small/almost no grille from what I remember..

In my head I remember it being across between an S15 Silvia, Ford Cougar and a Monaro. I actually thought it could have been an old model Monaro but they didnt seem to do them. May well be an import of some sort.

Any ideas?

Cheers, Greg.

No! It wasnt something that obvious.

I understand because of the diagonal swage thing, which is what's sticking in my head but maybe it was a reflection..

No, possibly slightly bigger and looked slightly more modern. Mx6' werent made in 2001 although an import one could have been registered wrongly I suppose.. but it wasnt one anyway.

Nope, 2003 was the first... For coupes, anyway. The sedan version, (in my profile), were out in 2001.

Ah well, rules that out then...

Also now deleted my pic of an S15 Silvia after re-reading the OP and he already mentions that it wasn't one...

Although your post doesn't work for me - the link suggests a Hyundai coupe! smile The OP will be well and truely kicking themselves if they failed to recognise a Hyundai coupe... wink

None of these, it did look quite 'large', more of a GT than a sports coupe if you know what I mean. That's part of the reason I think it was an import - the other being that I didnt recognise it..

Could it have been a Subaru SVX. Not sure if they were made this late but the description fits.

Nope... Already mentioned above, and it isn't the fiat coupe. That was my first guess.
