Minor rant - this wker nearby keeps his fleet of cars on the road as he has a terraced house. He parks one or two in front of the house, then as his house is end of terrace, round the corner he parks another four cars and a trailer (not hitched to anything or plated) and spreads them out to cover the distance from the end of the road up to the end of his garden. Each vehicle or trailer has 10ft of space in between so his fleet prevents anyone else from using the road he "claims" as his own.

The junction view is somewhat blocked by the cars parked near the corner as well which makes it even more stupid as there's tons of thick s round here who always speed down this road which is barely wide enough for 2 cars.

To top it off he parks them on the pavement just about leaving enough space for a pram to get through - don't think this is against any laws here as it's not in London.

Aside from the Defender (which is a weekend toy) the rest of the cars / pickup are ste and probably on finance by the looks of them/chavvy semi-cherished plates.

Just wanted to share my disgust at this selfish prick.

Parking on the pavement is against the law everywhere iirc.

So you hate him because he parks his cars on the road where he is allowed to?

I think you need to relax a little.

ETA - if he's blocking the path or parked too near to junctions, by all means tell the police, but I Can't see the problem with parking near your house.

I think he hates him because he makes it awkward for everyone else.

I'm why dont you just ask him to park them closer together if there is a lack of parking in the area, leaving more space for everyone else... problem sorted.

Hehe sorry guys it's about 200 yards away from me and doesn't affect me one bit except when numpties come out from the junction he's blocked the visibility for.

What gets my goat is the fact that it's a public road, he has no more rights to any of it than anyone else yet spreads his fleet all around it in an area where parking is so bad 50 yards from his "moat" of cars/trailers that people routinely have to do a 2 point turn to get round the cars parked right on the corners. Proper squished up urban nightmare parking for the rest of them and he luxuriates with his terraced "manor" and his cars.

The cars don't change very often (from what I can see every 2/3 years for a brand new couple so probably lease/finance jobs) and as far as I see all taxed up ok - I don't examine them in detail though just what I've glanced when walking past them.

The trailer is strategically parked to make it awkward for anyone else to park there in the day when he's out doing whatever he does - anyone know if trailers can be left on the road like that? Do they need permission like skips do? Not that I'd do anything about it - just for my own knowledge really.

Also I thought pavement parking was only prohibited by an old Greater London Council law from decades ago and didn't apply to anywhere else? I assume it's ok cos up the road they park entirely on the pavement and sod the pedestrians.

Report trailer to the council as an obstruction. They'll remove it wink
