I have just been to look at a car from pistonheads
and i would love to buy it there is 1 big problem thats putting me off that im not quite sure what it is.Any help would be great to diagnose the problem dont want to buy if its going to cost a fortune.
the problem is its letting lots of water out of the exhaust not just a little bit of condesation loads especially under acceleration.the car in question is a volvo c70 t5

If it has done a lot of short journeys - it may be built up condensation.
If it is chucking out a lot of water and steam even when hot, the only place that can come from is the coolant system, meaning the head gasket is probably f
ked.
Sometimes you will get other signs like a mayolike substance under the filler cap, but when my head gasket went on my other car years ago, I didnt have any signs righht up until the day it blew spectacularly on the A303
Other thing to check for is signs of oil in the coolant header, but again, these things may not show up.
