Bought a used car from a dealer recently and was not told about any form of Tracker being fitted.

I'm getting a warning beep from the car and BMW are suggesting it's a tracker as it's not one of their noises!
Obviously it's not easy to identify what tracker it is or where in the car it is, so I'm after suggestions on how I can go about this!

If I phone around the various tracker companies is this something they could help me with? Will the car give out a signal even without a valid subscription?
Going to phone the dealer and see if they can contact the original owner too.

Get the chassis number and email the tracker sites on their contact us links. Try Tracker and trackstar first as they are the main ones that BMW fit.

You would normally get a book with it, with a number inside - then your ring up Tracker and they will confirm the tracker is there and ask for you to activate it.

I don't know how you'd prove to them (or whichever company) that it was yours and not a thief - maybe posting V5 copy or something?

Just spoken to the dealer I bought it from and they are going to do the leg work for me, calling previous owner and tracker companies.
