to warn others.....My car is for sale for £900 o.n.o. Already confirmed this with Mr Mulla via e-mail and received this today:

"Just Good day,
Thank you for your message and your response ...
I agree with the price, and I want to buy it for my son,
I will pay £2500
But now I'm in china with a busy seminar
and this is taking my time

I do not want to delay the purchase, I want you to know that
I will make my payment by check as this is the best way to pay for
this ... and to enable this I need details of where you want me to send
the check to
1) NAME
2) address
3) postal code/zipcode

I have a shipping agent who would come for the shippment of
the product as soon as you get the cheque and confirmed that they have
also cashed in your account
Thank you very much and hope to read from you soon
Thanks
Mr Onyekachi Mulla"

I've sent a copy to an e-mail address for the police fraud squad I found in a previous pistonheads topic on scams.

Scam for sure.
I was renting out a room in my flat a few years back and recd a reply form a lady, who said she wanted the room and would send me a cheque for 6 months in advance.
To my amazement i recd a cheque for 3500. I put the cheque in the bank, it cleared after a few days, and i told the person via email all is done. She then said she couldnt take the room, so i told her i was not prepared to give her back the whole sum, so i never heard back. So i kept the money in my account and kept emailing her about the money.
2 months later i went to the cash point and the machine kept my card. I went back home as it was before the banks were open and rang the bank. They said they could not discuss thematter, and i needed to go to the bank when it opens. I did so and was told to my horror that my account had been suspended and under investigation. It turned out the cheque was a fraudulent one and it took me another 2 months to get my account back to the way it was. If i wanted to withdraw money id have to go to the bank, get a woman to take me to the cashier and get her to give me the cash over the counter. It really was an uncomfotable feeling.
So beware of any cheques sent for stuff liek this also.
