Seem to have noticed over the last couple of weeks that there is less traffic on the roads, particularly noticeable in the mornings between 7.30am & 8am on the M62, Leeds - Manchester. Also the traffic that is about tends to be driving at no more than 70mph, or at least 95% of it, with the majority cruising along at around 60mph. Must admit its a straight run to work these days & its taking around 10 mins less, no queues or hold ups.
Is this due to the high cost of fuel? I think so, must admit I'm with the 60mph brigade now as the car returns nearly 10mpg more at this speed!

As I am fortunate enough to not have any children then that explains why I have not thought of that!

TBH I dont really care that much... I'll drive the way i want to drive, on a mixed normal drive I get between 35-40MPG and i'm happy! Driving is a luxury and if you can't afford the fuel/insurance/mot/tax then you can afford the luxury...
