Evening,

Quick question...

A family member turned across someone last year and had a crash - all his fault. A few days later he text the other driver asking if all was well health-wise and got a reply which pretty much said 'yes'.

He has now got a letter from some shyster solicitors quoting the wrong accident date and advising the other driver is claiming for neck and back pain etc.

Is this a usual thing? seems like someone has sensed some compo!

He is finding a solicitor tomorrow as the people we usually use for legal stuff don't so this type of law - bugger!

Any help is very much appreciated

Perfectly normal, unfortunately.

I'm surprised it took the third party so long to smell the cash.

They seem totally inept! The date of accident is wrong (by 6 months!) and they spelt my brother’s name incorrectly,

He's pretty young with an average job so would be hoping for legal aid - however we don't have a clue how it works.

Don't enter into dialogue with them yourself, just pass the letter straight to your insurance company.
