what cheap track car project

Living in Ireland so the choice may be a bit limited and want to keep it cheap so a trip across the sea isn't viable but what track car would you suggest. Have an Mr2 turbo at the moment but would prefer something that if it breaks it won't hurt my heart to much. Limited budget of €800 euro or so but the cheaper the better as it's just for a bit of fun.
Doesn't matter about engine size or drivetrain but would prefer a bit of go in it.
Mx 5 is out of budget in Ireland,
hoping the pistonhead collective would give me a few cheap idea's.
