Hamann Reveals 355bhp BMW Z4

German tuner eases the pain for those craving a Z4 M

With no M version of the latest Z4 on the cards, those wanting more poke than in the recently launched BMW Z4 sDrive35is can now turn to tuner Hamann.

The German company is now offering a range of tweaks that take a Z4 sDrive35i to 355bhp and 398lb ft of torque - that's a reasonably healthy 25bhp and 66lb ft of torque more than the sDrive 35is.

Hamann does this with nothing more complicated than a new exhaust system and a thorough re-working of the ECU. The speed limtier is also removed, allowing owners to wind the Hamann Z4 up to 177mph.

The Hamann Z4 also benefits (suffers?) from a 'unique' aero package, including a new lip spoiler, side skirts, a chunky boot spoiler and suspension dropped by 30mm. The car can also be specified with 20-inch matt black forged alloys. Subtle.

The changes inside are less, er, dramatic, with a new gearstick and some bespoke floormats.

Couldn't agree with you more. IMHO the kit is just aweful, unless you like hanging out with the Barry Boys, of course!

I have a fantastically chavy RS Focus and even I think this looks really chavy from the rear. The standard car is very clean.

Rancid. Silly nomenclature aside the newer Z4 look OK, not what I'd call a fine evolution of design, though I wish they'd make an 'M' version. BMW deserve Hammann doing this to their cars for not making one.

Look at this abomination above, then go and look at the original Z4M. If you prefer the former, you need to go and get a brainscan as you're showing all the signs of being a massive spacker.

For me, spoilers on convertibles never work. They just disrupt the clean line created when the roof is down.

I'd be happy to be proven wrong though If anyone can show me a convertible with a spoiler which looks better than without.

Another gem from the taste vacuum that is; aftermarket German car tuners wobble.

Pretty much agree with you. This MAY be an exception?

Nice...

I have the 3.0si Z4. I have had it higher than 177mph on the Autobahn. Mine has been remapped, Remus catback and new airfilter etc..

Top speed of this thing has to be higher than 177mph. Great looking car...apart from the bodykit

Hideous. Shades of Fast and Furious S2000 rice-rockets. Agreed, most rag-tops look spoiled with spoilers.

What will it take for these turd rollers to realise that even their glitter is brown?
