Pug 206 Gearbox

Sorry for posting in here but wanted a bit more exposure before it got moved to the dirty french bit of the forum where no one ever replies :P
I have managed to seize the Diff in my current petrol gearbox for the 206 and after looking round lots of 206 owners forums, apart from finding out that they treat gearboxes like consumables I have not found any more information.
Would a Diesel gearbox fit my petrol 206? I am just after something that is going to last a little longer really and friend suggested to me that this may be an option but did not know if it would fit so told me I would need to find out.
I do know that MA gearboxes fit...yet thats just from reading the 206 forums and apart from that little nugget I don't actually know the differences in an MA gearbox to another so MA probably just means the petrol box??
