I had a top spec one of those as a company car when they came out, that was black as well. Very useful motor, relaxed cruising, not bad mpg, & a huge boot! Not bad at all considering it is FWD!!

I am sure you will enjoy it.

They were sold as the Mercury Cougar over here in the sates. I always thought they were quite nice to look at. Never drove one, though. I remember when they were first introduced, and they were certainly different at the time.

Wife likes these - I've never really given them much thought but I must admit that looks pretty good - especially as it's not the typical bluey colour.

Congratulations on the new car.

I've had the ST24 2 months now and have covered 2000 miles. Have loved every minute of it while averaging over 30mpg all the way.

I've always thought these looked like a bit of a bargain, and it's always nice to see someone excited about their new car, whatever it is! Congratulations!

Me jealous.

Had one just the same until a couple of years back..... And I really muss it.

Only downside was the limited choice of tyres but they can be got for ok prices now.

Still a nice looking car after 10 years.

I tried to find a good one when I was looking for a sub £2k car but struggled.

That one you have looks like a cracker.

Always liked the Cougar. Had an ST 24 with I think the same duratec engine and it pulled really strong. Not very economical though but you will enjoy the drive for sure.

Looks great mate. Nice V6 for not a lot of money.

I've been looking at ST24 Mondeo's lately. Neighbour has one and it's minted.

No kidding. I had a 97/P ST24 for a week when they first came out and nearly bankrupted myself putting fuel in it that week - and that was when petrol was about 65p/litre!

decided to see what i could get out of it, if ur carful even on stop start windy country roads you can still get 34.5mpg and that was only on a 10 mile drive hehe was quite inpressed with myself on that front.
