do people actually fall for this sh*t.

" I hope the product is in good mechanical condition.Your sincerity is something I see very necessary to appreciate.kindly get back to me with the total amount you wanted to sell this product for me.I will not be able to meet up with the cash and local pick up due to the nature of my work.I will however be needing your full contact address with your cell phone # so that I can forward it to my shipping agent who will be coming over there for the inspection and shipping. I will be very glad to make the payment asap through my PayPal Account as I am currently in millitary camp and I won't definitely be able to make it to my bank to make bank wires across to you.
As to shipping,I will contact a shipping company who will handle shipping. I will however be needing your contact address to be able to get the shipping quote from the shipping company.Do get back to me asap with your PayPal Email address and Full name so that I can remit the payment asap.
Cheers,"

Amazingly, yes.

Look at the usual 419 scams - say the odds are a million to one; it costs the scammers nothing to spam a million people (or 10 million, or 100 million).

Most people buying a car simply ignore the dodgy emails, but I'd say there's at least one thread a month on here asking for confirmation that the emails are a scam. It's not too hard to believe that there's the odd person once in a while who thinks they're genuine.

The last 'successful' car-related case I heard of involved an M3 CSL and £30k. The former didn't exist and the latter was never seen again if I remember rightly (although I think the scam was slightly more believable than usual). I'm sure someone will have a link to that story.

Yep.

Selling my car at the moment, had two so far.

One said he wanted to buy it for his son but couldn't do payment except PayPal..

I messaged back to get his son to come to my address with a breifcase full of 1,000,000,000 Ugandan Dollars and we'll talk business..

I haven't had a reply now frown

I did think i'd email back and ask if he was happy with his internet provider though and that I could get it much cheaper for him..

Still no message back frown

Hi,
Thanks for the quick response i really do appreciate it,i will like to
know the present condition of the car with some recent photos if there
is any and what is your final asking price?, please do get back to me
soon so we can discuss business.

Thanks
Mr. Halbert McCarthy.
If it wasn't for the repeat questions, and poor English, someone could fall for it not too difficult.

If anyone would like some fun the email address is in the first email biggrin
