So I've been saving for years to get to the position that I can afford a weekend plaything and I have finally saved enough to be able to spank about £10k on something that can stay in the garage during the week and put a smile on my chubby little face at the weekend. I'm 6'4" and have a little bit of relaxed muscle (little bit!!!) so it'll need to be big enough for my fat arse, got to be quick, fun, preferably fairly rare, rear wheel drive and have no roof (although this is optional).

So far, test driven a VX220 Turbo and S1 Elise but can't really drive them brilliantly due to the steering wheel being that bit too close to my knees so I think they're out:

Over to the PH massive for some good tips and ideas methinks!

totally agree on the vx220, so uncomfortable if you're anything over average build.

personally i'd be looking at Boxter S, e36 m3 cab.

also reckon the 944 s2 cab is one of the best looking cars around + fairly rare and great drive, or 968 cab.

+1 on the Boxster (S).
Would also look into: Honda S2000

I think the S2000 might be a bit tight for space (the earlier ones, at least)

350Z Roadster might be within budget?

This one's a bit over:

This one's had a replacement engine:
